Heather is a passionate, dedicated visionary leader and care provider. She has been offering birthwork services/doula support since 2004. She immigrated to Sydney from the US in 2005 where she studied and received her Diploma of Remedial Massage in 2006 from Nature Care College, specializing in pregnancy massage. In 2009 she began her doula studies at the Australian Doula College and became a Certified Birth and Postpartum Doula in 2011. When she returned to the United States, she was one of the first doulas hired to help co-create and launch the revolutionary Pregnancy Care Package at Providence Women's clinic in Portland Oregon where she worked in an integrated hospital-based midwifery clinic as a staff doula. She served as the Lead Doula for 7 years working directly with birthing families, designed and implemented innovative patient/woman/family centred programs, and managed the doula team. In 20019 she resigned so that she could have a full maternity leave with her first child. Heather re-opened her private practice during the pandemic and joined Birth First Doulas (agency) in 2023.

Heather moved back to the Northern Beaches of Sydney in 2024 and currently works in private practice offering direct doula support with clients, mentoring other doulas, and consulting families all over the world.

Heather loves supporting a diverse body of clients. She has provided doula support to a vast range of individuals and families from extremely different backgrounds and histories. Heather specializes in working with clients with a trauma history, mental health history and mood disorders, as well as pregnancy loss, and providing skilled care to those in need. 

She views pregnancy, loss, birth, and postpartum as sacred journeys that can be challenging to navigate at times, and hopes to offer her clients her full support, empathy, deep listening, reflection, knowledge, resources, and presence. She acknowledges that the culture in which many of us live in, is not always supportive of becoming new parents and her hope is that she can provide a space of unconditional support so her clients can find their own way. Heather is an Oregon state certified THW doula and was cofounder of the Oregon Doula Association. She is currently enrolled in the Bachelor of Midwifery program at University of Technology Sydney.
